Sustainability is about effectuating positive change in your sphere of influence, no matter how large or small that sphere may be.

There are plenty of order fulfillment and warehousing companies out there who think green. We prefer to live it. As such, here are some of the steps we have taken from our inception to reduce our footprint and be more sustainable:

  • 100% utilization of recycled or reused packaging materials
    Not only does it keep waste out of landfills, but it saves our clients money. In 2009, we saved 50% on our packaging material cost.

  • Reimburse employees who carpool for fuel costs
    Working with our employees to be more sustainability-minded helps our entire community.

  • Monthly community service activities Our entire executive staff engages in monthly community service activities. Our employees are asked to attend as well (and we pay them for their time). In addition, we invite clients and partner organizations to serve with us.

  • Utilization of hybrid / battery-powered equipment
    Half of the Riley Life vehicles are gas/electric hybrids, and 100% of our material handling equipment is battery-powered. These are more cost effective to operate and more environmentally efficient.

Sustainability Recognition

Green Plus Riley Life was the 4th company in the US to be awarded Green Plus Certification - a recognition of advanced sustainability practices across the metrics of people, planet, and performance. Learn more at Green Plus.

One side effect of our sustainability efforts has been the recognition we have received from multiple organizations. Our industry is generally not considered to be sheik, sexy, or "green", but we like to do our part and appreciate the recognition.
